I am on h1b visa and want to buy a property in india. My parents in india will be the POA. Can someone suggest which is better- taking a personal loan from a bank in India or here?Also, if someone has done the same, can u provide the details about how much loan one can get, any good bank to get it and the paperwork etc. thanks a lot.

Is AILA doing anything about it? Do they need IV member support? How do we make it clear to the USCIS and Govt that targetting H1b and the free will of the employer to hire H1b is PURE SOCIALISM and anti-capitalism. It is a sure way of destroying the capitalistic engine that is keeping the US ahead. Is US becoming a restrictive economy like China? China is moving slowly but surely out of its old ways and becoming more and more open to capitalistic policies and we are finding the US slipping slowly but surely into protectionism and more socialistic principles.

Yeah, I would have liked to apply a year ago but at that time my employer and I had a different arragnment. Anyway, Hellomms, you are talking about me getting H1B extended but to do all that I have to submit my PERM application first and I really think it will be difficult to even get through the recruitment process at this time. DOL is already talking about watching more carefully and many EB2 cases get audited regardless. Anyway, givien the details I gave in my first post, what would you guys advise, go to Canada and reset the H1B clock or try to force PERM now?

Well, thanks all for your responses, but I am as cfused as I was before I posted the question. Do any of you have any sources to back your claims. I know for sure that worldwide income has to be reported, so thanks for that clarification desi3933. But do you have a source that mentions that a person on H4 can for sure work outside. Many thanksa again guys. All your help is appreciated.

whilei don t know what is salary as per market rate... i will not have any salary... only straight commission. but i guess i can ask the broker to pay me a salary but i will not be an agent ...more like someone working in the office like a secretary.

That's correct you cannot open a service request without a receipt, this was suggested to me because I was tracking my spouse's application and they accepted my receipt number. In a way it was a service request on my name.
You can do the following, use your I-140 receipt number. They only reason they need a receipt number is to track the person with the service request.
You can request that your I-485 was filed with the following I-140 XXX receipt number. This will start some kind of tracking on your I-485 application
for which no receipt has been issued in more that 45 days.
Don't read too much in IO's response, you will get different responses from each one of them.
I am sure you will get your receipts before July 30.

But she repeatedly suggested to check the bank for encashed checks. She said 'no encashed checks, no receipt #'...

I hope someone here can shed some light on my situation. I have two midemeanors on my record and must go for my interview end of next month. The first misdemeanor was last year when I backed up and hit another car's headlight out. Because I did not have my license yet, I left the scene... hit and run. The second was a DUI earlier this year. I ended up with a 5 year probation on the DUI.
I also received two traffic tickets, driving without a license, in the past two years. I'm almost done paying the fines.
I received my temporary work permit last month and received my interview notice yesterday. Will these two misdemeanors/tickets play a role in my interview.

Say you want to search for all the work been done or being done on say "teapot". Normally you type in "teapot" in search bar and Google will dump millions of results. And those results would be screened objectively based on the search query i.e. "teapot". But interestingly, "kettle" is also a synomous for "teapot" but since the search was objectively driven, this subjective association would be excluded. This is just an example, I framed to explain my point.
A quick answer to above would be to include any synomous words, but we all know in techonological world and especially in the IP area, their could numerous ways to hid the information while maintaining it on public forums. If you have been engaged in IP development, you will understand what I am talking about.

The way I see is that you have two options:
1) You close your shop here in USA and go back to India and take care of them there. India is booming, you will surely get a good job. But then this is based on your priorities and what u want to do.
OR
2) Find a very good old age home for them in India, where there is 24hrs support for them.. This will be cheaper for you and good for them. They will be in midst of people of their age and get all the support which you will not be able to give, as you and your wife are working.
Coming to US at this age and with such medical condition, will only become a burden for you and them. Since all they will land up doing is baby sitting your kids and maybe walk to the nearby mall. There is no way for them to interact with people of their age, which is big social need for everybody.
It is true no insurance will cover their pre-existing condition, so you will land up paying all their medical expenses. However, if u r a millionare, then bring them over here, then u will be able to take care of them......otherwise practically I see you losing all your hard earned $$'s....God forbid anybody getting sick here in US.
I just gave you some practical advise.
I hope you make the right decision, which would be good for you and your parents.

I guess then she should ask her employer to cancel her H1 (best approach) or least keep documentation of her resignation letter (backup for future RFE). Smart way is to step out of country & come back on parole. Shortcut is to work in some place for a week on I9 like Walmart.
The employee need not do anything. As long as the employee has a valid status to live, they are fine.
Definately there is no need to step out of country and come back. There is no need to trigger the change by going through these steps.
I have changed H1-B several times in the last 11 years i have been in this country. I have invoked AC-21 twice. None of my previous employers revoked my H1-B. I am currently working on EAD. I did not have to leave the country and come back on parole.

A) 140 or 485 gets denied and you're on EAD (it means you've already given up your H-1B)
B) 140 gets denied and you're on H-1B (it means you can't use EAD and you can't even stay in this country for 3-4 months without a job on H-1B and still maintain your status)

if someone is on h1 status & have filed 485 in july 07. what happens when due to recession he/she is out of job (NO PAYROLL) for 3-4 months.
will the person have problems during 485 approval?? whats the possible negative that can happen in such god not willing situation
